Balances

A balance is an instrument that measures the weight or mass of an object. There are many different types of balance, but laboratory and industrial balances are two of the most common. Laboratory balances are used in scientific research to measure small amounts of material, while industrial balances are designed to handle larger loads.

Balance FAQs

There are several different types of balances available, including analytical balances, precision balances, industrial balances, lab balances, and top loading balances. Each type of balance is designed for a specific level of accuracy and precision, and may be used for different applications.

There are a few differences between an industrial scale and a balance. An industrial scale is designed to weigh heavy objects with a capacity of several thousand pounds or more, while a balance is designed to weigh smaller objects in milligrams to a few hundred grams. Balances are more precise than industrial scales, while industrial scales are more rugged and less expensive.

Analytical balances are a type of balance used to measure small masses with a high degree of precision. They are commonly used in laboratory settings for weighing chemical compounds or other small objects.

Precision balances are similar to analytical balances, but are designed for slightly larger masses and may have a slightly lower degree of precision. They are also commonly used in laboratory settings for weighing chemicals, as well as in industries such as manufacturing and quality control.

Top loading balances are a type of balance used for larger masses, typically up to several kilograms. They are commonly used in industries such as food production and agriculture for weighing ingredients or produce.

What Our Customers Say

"The American Scale technician was very thorough and we barely even noticed he was there, which is a GOOD thing! He asked multiple questions making sure he was taking care of our every need and made sure to follow up before he left, explaining our scale situation and corrections that were made. Overall the technician did a fine job. Thanks for your services."

"I received a call from a gentleman at Conway Freight regarding your service at Conway in Louisville.  Apparently he was extremely impressed with the service, repairs and installations American Scale completed at the terminal.  During the years we have been doing national service, this is the first time one of the national accounts has called specifically to compliment a dealer.  He has never walked into a terminal and not called me with some issue that needs to be fixed.  He said a couple times over there was not one little thing wrong with the scales that he could find. I want to thank your for everything you have done to present because American Scale represents Rice Lake and you have made both companies look great!  The gentleman who called is also the person who controls the reweighs and scale purchases for Conway corporate.  With that said, he was impressed!"
